Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list. The automatic confirmation is a service email about your enquiry. This website does not use your enquiry to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Services that handle information
Information is shared with service providers as needed to run the website and respond to you:
- Website hosting and infrastructure: providers that deliver and maintain this website, operate its contact-form server and store limited delivery and security records on my behalf. These providers process submitted enquiry details and technical request information as needed to provide and protect the service.
- Enquiry emails: Resend processes your submitted details to deliver the enquiry to my business inbox and send your confirmation email. The business email provider also processes correspondence held in that inbox.
- Meeting bookings: the booking button takes you to Moxie. If you use it, the details you provide are processed through that booking service. Its own privacy information is available there.
- Fonts: pages request fonts from Google Fonts. This sends Google technical request information, such as your IP address and browser details.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to deal with a legal claim. Personal information submitted through this website is not sold.
Where information is processed
Some providers and their infrastructure operate outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Their applicable data-processing agreements describe the contractual protections for international transfers. These can include standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum where required.
For information about the hosting providers and the transfer safeguards applicable to your information, or to request a copy of those safeguards, email info@maxwebdesign.co.uk. Copies may be subject to necessary redactions. You can also read the Resend data-processing terms.
How long information is kept
Enquiry emails and related correspondence are kept for the time needed to answer your enquiry, follow up any requested proposal and retain a relevant record of the discussion. The appropriate period depends on whether the enquiry becomes a project, any continuing correspondence and any legal or record-keeping requirements. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted.
The form also keeps limited delivery and abuse-prevention metadata, including submission identifiers, delivery references and keyed hashes used to recognise repeat requests. The form database does not store the full enquiry message, name or email address. Submission metadata becomes eligible for cleanup after seven days; cleanup runs when subsequent enquiries are processed, so deletion may take longer during quiet periods. Expired rate-limit records are also cleaned up during processing.
Email copies and provider delivery or security logs are separate records. Their retention depends on the relevant account settings and provider terms; the form database cleanup does not delete those copies.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access your personal information, correct it, request its deletion, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests and receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To make a request, email info@maxwebdesign.co.uk. I may need to confirm your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; if a lawful extension or exception applies, I will explain it.
You can raise a concern with me directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority.
Changes to this notice
This notice covers enquiries and use of this website. If the website’s tools or use of personal information change, the notice will be updated. Information about any additional processing needed for a client project can be provided when that project is discussed.
